The damnation of meaningless celeb status is constantly waved in the audiences face which doesn't help the characters feel relatable, but perhaps thats the point? Non of these feelings are aided by the tepid script and questionable acting either, which led me into a sort of numb coma halfway through the film as I watched fictional instagram people being killed one by one and feeling nothing. The outstanding issue is that the themes the film tries to comment on we have seen covered a hundred times in better, more subtle projects.
This movie handles the idea of vapid celebrity culture and the TMZ style media coverage that follows, while playing out on the backdrop of a Saw style torture tournament.
